LIVE NOW, y’all: Cool New Searchable Catalog!

Holy moly folks! It’s been a minute and 2020 is nuts and all that, but today we’re coming at you with some rare good news: Town Talk Library’s cool new searchable catalog is now live! Click the picture of the catalog below to check it out! The catalog/catalogue is definitely a work in progress. One day, there will be faceted search capability and lots more catalog records (with cover images), but it’s already way better than just having a spreadsheet!

Sean, an Austin resident and Rutgers student, has been working on this project for the last few months. He doesn’t like talking about himself, but here’s a picture of him for your enjoyment. The project was fun and he did a real swell job. If you are or know a graduate student looking for a project, have them get in touch!

Sean built us a catalog! Thanks, Sean!

good readin’ today #1

Hey folks, today I’m starting an occasional series wherein I’ll post good articles and helpful resources about zines and zine libraries!

Today’s piece is a short-but-sweet interview with the inimitable Violet Fox, co-curator of the Dewey Decimal system, and a zine compatriot. I can’t wait for her zine cataloging book with Josh Barton coming out this summer!
